What should you do when tender experience requirements feel out of reach? If a tender asks for experience you do not quite have, first check whether tender experience requirements are mandatory pass or fail conditions, or evidence that will be scored. A public sector tender may accept comparable evidence, named team members or permitted delivery…
Can you change a tender bid after submission? You can usually change tender bid details, withdraw or replace a response before the submission deadline, if the invitation to tender and portal allow it. After the deadline, there’s generally no right to change a tender bid. A substantive pricing response differs from a permitted clarification, and…
You’ve pressed submit, the portal has confirmed receipt, and then you spot it. It might be a missing attachment, a price that doesn’t reconcile or a sentence that contradicts your delivery plan. A tender mistake after submission can feel like a long wait for bad news. Try not to panic, and only upload revised files…
It is 4pm, the contract extension needs signing, and somebody asks whether the new value means you now need to tender. That question can stop a good team in its tracks. Financial standing questions test whether your organisation has sufficient resources to deliver the contract, given its contract value, without…
The tender is due next week. Your delivery lead has the knowledge, your bid manager has the questions, and everyone has a calendar that looks mildly hostile. When you interview subject matter experts, the goal isn’t to collect a long explanation. It’s to capture the facts, proof and delivery detail that help an evaluator award…
How much time should your tender response timeline allow? A realistic plan depends on the opportunity. A simple quotation or familiar private invitation may take a few working days. A standard public tender often needs around three weeks. Complex, high-value, multi-lot or partnership bids may need four or five weeks. The buyer’s tendering period is…
A missing insurance document can stop a strong tender before anyone reaches your method statement. That’s frustrating when your team can deliver the work and has spent days getting the response right. Tender insurance requirements help buyers assess whether you can manage the financial risk attached to the contract. They also show whether you have…
What is a framework agreement? A framework agreement is an approved buying route that lets the public sector purchase goods, services or works from selected suppliers. It is a commercial agreement that sets pricing, service scope and terms and conditions for future purchases, rather than confirming an immediate order. Passing the initial tender gives you…
