Training that makes bidding easier to understand and easier to do well
Evaluator-led training for anyone involved in tenders, from Bid Managers and subject matter experts to technical, delivery and leadership teams. We make the scoring, evidence and structure behind stronger bids much easier to understand and use.
You want an independent evaluator view before submission.
That sounds like Bid Review →You want to improve strategy, process, systems or the wider bidding function.
That sounds like Bid Consultancy →You want practical skills, stronger contributions and a clearer understanding of how evaluators score.
You’re in the right place ✓You want mentoring, capability-building or support around a growing internal team.
That sounds like Team Development →Less guessing, clearer contributions and stronger answers
The aim is to give the people already involved in bids a shared understanding of what good looks like, so they can contribute better, review with more confidence and spend less time trying to work out what the evaluator wants.
Know what the evaluator needs
Understand what the question is really asking for and what needs to be explicit on the page.
Give better input first time
Know what evidence, detail and examples will actually strengthen the response.
Review for the right things
Spend less time rewriting each other and more time checking whether the answer will score.
Start with what’s happening now
Click the one that sounds familiar and you’ll see the session built around it.
Find the patterns that are getting in the way of a better win rate
The Bid Win Rate Accelerator gives your team a structured way to step back from individual submissions and look at the recurring things that can weaken performance across multiple bids.
We work through the same seven areas in every session, so this is a focused training framework rather than an open-ended consultancy review.
Know which areas are most worth improving first.
Understand where your message may be making the buyer work too hard.
Spot process habits that make good submissions harder to produce.
See where recurring bid weaknesses could be affecting results.
- Recurring feedback themes.
- Clarity and structure.
- Evaluator confidence.
- Messaging and positioning.
- Evidence quality.
- Internal bid workflow.
- Strong points that are being missed or undersold.
“I went into the Bid Win Rate Accelerator thinking it would probably be a waste of an afternoon because I write code, I’m technical rather than sales, and bids are something I only get pulled into now and again. I was genuinely surprised by how useful it was. The time flew, and I came away feeling like what we covered would help me in my day-to-day role as well as when I’m answering technical bid questions.”
Understand how an evaluator reads your answer and decides what it is worth
Evaluator Eyes is about the scoring side of the table. It helps people stop relying on what they meant to say and start recognising what the evaluator can actually see, evidence and award marks for.
It is particularly useful for SMEs, delivery leads, newer bidders and reviewers who know the subject well but have never been shown how a response is experienced by the person scoring it.
Understand what the evaluator is looking for in the answer.
Recognise where internal knowledge has not actually made it onto the page.
Know what detail and evidence SMEs need to provide.
Review against the question and score rather than writing preference.
- How evaluators move through a response.
- How the question and scoring criteria shape what matters.
- Why assumptions and implied detail create scoring gaps.
- How evidence builds evaluator confidence.
- Why relevance needs to be made explicit.
- How to review through evaluator eyes rather than editor eyes.
“I’d only been a Bid Manager for about three months when we brought Melissa in, having come into the role from a completely different job. She never made me feel stupid for asking basic questions. She explained why things were done a certain way instead of just telling me what to do, and I learned more in a few sessions with her than I had in those first three months of trying to wing it.”
Turn what your team knows into answers the evaluator can actually award marks for
Write for the Score takes the evaluator thinking from session two and applies it to the answer itself. The focus is on making claims specific, choosing evidence that proves something and structuring the response so the evaluator can find what they need quickly.
This is the practical writing stage of the journey: less filler, fewer vague claims and more of the detail that does useful scoring work.
Replace broad statements with detail the evaluator can use.
Use examples and outcomes that genuinely support the claim.
Make complex responses easier to navigate and understand.
Remove filler without removing the things that earn marks.
- Turning claims into specific, evidenced statements.
- Choosing examples and outcomes that strengthen the answer.
- Structuring complex questions clearly.
- Keeping the buyer and question visible throughout the response.
- Removing repetition, filler and generic language.
- Making every part of the word count do useful work.
“Usually these sessions are death by PowerPoint and I get distracted really easily, but Melissa is funny and doesn’t take it all too seriously while still teaching you stuff that actually sticks. It was great seeing her take something that can feel really complex and make it super simple. I wish she’d been around when I started out!”
We can build support around what is changing in your team
You might be bringing in new people, promoting somebody into a Bid Manager role, introducing a new system or process, or simply not have the time, expertise or capacity internally to train them properly. That is where more tailored training or mentoring can help.
New team or new roles
Give people a shared starting point when responsibilities are changing, a team is growing or more people are being pulled into bids.
New process or system
Help people understand how the new way of working should actually be used rather than handing over another process document and hoping for the best.
Mentoring & ongoing support
Practical support for newer team members or people who have been promoted into bidding roles when you do not have the time, expertise or capacity internally to train them yourself.
Simple pricing, with room for something more tailored
All three focused training sessions are delivered remotely and cost the same. We can also deliver in person, with in-person delivery, bespoke training and mentoring quoted separately.
One remote session
Choose Bid Win Rate Accelerator, Evaluator Eyes or Sharper Bid Answers.
If you would prefer the session delivered in person, we will quote based on location, travel and the format required.
Built around your team
For new teams, onboarding support, new systems or processes, longer workshops, or mentoring that continues over time.
We agree the scope first and give you a fixed written quote before anything begins.
Want all three focused sessions?
Book all three focused sessions and take them within a 12-month period. That gives the team time to use what they have learned between sessions rather than trying to cram everything into one day.
We have different rates for eligible charities, CICs and other VCSE organisations below £1m annual turnover, so the standard pricing above may not apply to you.
A few things you might want to know
Your team already knows the business. Our training helps them show it in a way the evaluator can score.
Tell us what you want people to be better at afterwards and we can point you towards the session, mentoring or more tailored support that fits.
