What is a grant application need statement? A grant application need statement explains the problem your project will address, who is affected, and why funding is needed in your area now. It turns a good idea into a case a funder can assess. Strong statements use local facts, lived experience and service evidence. They do…
Can You Bid for a Public Sector Tender Without Previous Experience? Yes. You can bid for a public sector tender without having worked with a council, NHS trust, government department or university before. Previous public sector experience isn’t automatically mandatory. Eligibility depends on the tender documents, pass/fail requirements and selection criteria. The relevant question is…
Can a Small Business Really Win Public Sector Tenders? Yes. Small business tenders can win suitable public sector work when the contract fits your capacity, experience and delivery model. Clear evidence helps evaluators award marks. In public sector procurement, buyers assess compliance, capability, evidence and delivery risk rather than company size. Small suppliers can be…
Key Takeaways What Are Grant Outputs and Outcomes? Grant outcomes describe the change a funder expects to see. Outputs are what you will deliver, such as workshops, support sessions, equipment, placements or people reached. A funder priorities grant application sets out the people, place, activity, strategic outcomes, budget and proof an assessor can score. It is not about repeating a funder’s wording until…
What Is a Bid Content Library? A bid content library acts as a central repository for your strongest tender material. It holds approved answers, case studies, CVs, policies, delivery plans and evidence your team can trust. It isn’t a dumping ground for every document you’ve ever submitted. Each item should be current, owned by someone…
What Should You Do When Your Word Limit Is Too Short? When a word limit feels impossible, don’t try to shrink every paragraph by a few words. A tender response word count affects both compliance and scoring. Choose the relevant part of your value proposition that answers the buyer requirements, rather than inserting a generic…
Key Takeaways How Do You Spot a Generic Tender Response? If a rival could replace its name with yours and the answer would still work, it is too generic. A generic tender response makes broad promises but gives an evaluator little they can verify or score. A strong response answers the buyer’s question, shows how…
